Dr. Jen,
I definitely feel the case you presented is a valid use of donor milk.
Whether the ins. co. will think so is another story. That could be checked
out first.
I definitely would bring up re-lactation to the mom again. The cost of a
rental pump would be more likely to be covered by the ins. co. and the milk
would be specific for this baby. The baby would definitely benefit, so this
is not giving false hope. The milk tastes good, and is the most digestible
and health-giving for a human infant. The baby could even be nuzzled at
breast and might overcome some feeding aversion. Good luck.

relactate without being able to guarantee some kind of results as she has
been through so much pain caused by docs spouting opinions as fact. >>
