I have a thought. For those of you concerned about women who are being
sucked into (no pun intended) thinking Ezzo-style and/or who simply believe
that 8 hours of sleep is a sacred RIGHT of parents (ha! If they think
sleep is difficult with babies, wait til the teen years!), how about
suggesting a different word use when describing things.

Specifically, most of us on this list know that babies have a RIGHT to
access to parents day and night.

But, the people we are trying to reach do not equate infancy with rights of
any kind.

If we change our language to the baby's NEED for closeness, food,
comforting, etc, might we get through to them a bit easier? Most of these
parents do recognize the baby's needs for these things during the day.
Having a need is something the baby cannot help. Having aRIGHT may seem
like a short slippery slope to MANIPULATION, which is often what they have
been told to cut off at the knees early, if you get my drift.

Just a thought, as I said. What do YOU think?
