Hi Nancy! To say I'm a little behind in reading posts is an understatement.
When I read your below post, I had to thank you for sharing. The article
was very good and sensible. It does not surprise me that the AAP Committee
on Nutrition behaved so poorly. It often chooses to ignore the
recommendations of the AAP Section on Breastfeeding and sometimes even
contradicts it. Sometimes, US medical groups can be very frustrating.

Warm regards,

Subject: Re: article by Susan Burger on the AAP's new recommendation

One of my favorite writers is Lactnet's own Susan Burger. So when someone
asked me to feature a blog post on the new AAP recommendations to routinely
supplement exclusively breastfed babies with iron starting at 4 months of
age, I knew who to ask. Check out Susan's excellent analysis at:

extra-iron-at-4-months.html

AAP Committee on Nutrition; read it and weep!
