Dear Kathy,

In reading about the baby that wanted to wean at 3 mo, the thought struck
me-- breastfeeding enhances intellectual development of the baby. Perhaps
the mother received abm and so is having trouble intellectualizing her baby's
needs. (This is supposed to be a little joke).

This is sort of off the subject, but lately when I have been talking to
prenatal patients regarding breastfeeding, I slip in a comment that the
formula I received as a baby is now considered UNFIT to give infants. I ask
them to imagine how I feel, knowing that! Then I tell them--I feel
experimented on!!! It's food for thought for them. (also tells my age....)
