A twin mom in VA has called me a couple of times and now is emailing me for
help. Her babies are now 6 months, but she has gone through many struggles
and challenges along the way, regarding weight gain and milk production.
Last time I heard from her, she was taking Domperidone and doing well, but
felt that she should wean off of it. She started solids at about 3 months
but said it went well until recently. When they started to not do so well on
the solids, she increased their nursing time and reduced meals to once per
day. At the same time she was decreasing her Domperidone. The babies
increased their feeding frequency to 13-14 times per 24 hours. They are
sleeping and napping less well. At their six month checkup the boy lost 4 oz
from 2 months ago and the girl gained 8 ounces. Thier new pediatrician
prescribed Rinitidine for suspected Reflux and says that "breastfeeding is
not going welll" and that she should give 24 oz of formula a day. Mom does
not feel comfortable with the formula idea, but is really concerned about the
babies.

I think she lives near or in Hampton, VA, so if any of
you are from that area and would be interested in me referring her to you, I
would appreciate it. In the meantime, any thoughts appreciated as well.. Ann
