Someone mentioned about thumb tendonitis from the way women hold their
nipple/areola while breastfeeding. This is probably from mothers that hold
their hand on their breast their entire breastfeeding (becuase otherwise the
poor dear might sufficate as it says in so much lay literature including
that that comes with a popular plastic nurser). In general once the baby is
well positioned one can remove ones hands (and use them for other things
like typing lactnet posts). That is really one of the great advantages of
breastfeeding.
