Hi,
I just have a nice story, to maybe brighten someone's day. My daughter, who
works as a supervisor in a large warehouse store has been pumping milk for
her 5 month old for a couple of months now. There is no "private" place to
pump, so she has made a nice laminated sign that says "Pumping, please do no
enter" and simply pops into an unused office area for each pumping session.
The other day when she went into the break room to take her bottle to the
refrigerator, several of the employees in there applauded for her as she
walked by. She was so surprised by this. This was followed by a session in
which the horrors of bf 20 years ago were discussed, especially the bicycle
pumps (well, some of us can relate to that!). She felt so supported in her
decision to bf. It made her day.
Also I noted in the brochure for the new pump that she bought, the continuous
reference to "human breastmilk". Isn't that redundant? Is milk from any
other species called breastmilk? Just wondering out loud and online!
Regards,
Merilee Reeder CLE
