We have a regular short segment on the radio here given by a child
psychologist, who always speaks a lot of common sense about parenting. The
one today was about a dad left to mind baby (breastfed) while mum went
shopping. Bub wakes looking for mum for a feed, so dad dresses in mum's
bathrobe and puts on her perfume! (This was advised by a book he had - to
trick baby and make her calmer.) Meanwhile a friend comes to visit and
finds him like this. The bit I liked the best was when he said that
unfortunately mum had not left any "breasto expresso" to feed baby in her
absence, and that it seemed that if she didn't get back soon, one of them
was going to hit the bottle!! (meaning *either* Dad or bub)
I just loved the term for expressed breastmilk - "breasto expresso" and
felt that I had to share it with you all.
