This is not a breastfeeding problem per se, but I reckon that if
anybody knows anything about avoiding yeast infections, it is you
guys, so I'm taking the liberty of asking a question.

I take care of my elderly MIL in our home. She has a lot of health
problems, including a variety of yeast infections - thick fungoid
toenails and reoccurring candida in body folds and her vagina. She
has only recently agreed to having treatment, so her recovery has
been slow.
Unfortunately, despite my best precautions, I have had
several fungal problems since she came to live with us six years
ago, and I am pretty sure that I am getting them from her, since
I never had one before. I am reluctant to wear gloves when seeing
to her personal care, since this reinforces her poor self-image as
a deteriorating helpless invalid (her words). I do scrub everything, including my hands, in hot, soapy water and I use chlorine bleach
like it's going out of style.

What other precautions do you recommend?
