I am posting on behalf of a professional colleague who is not on lactnet, for her friend; we have the friend's permission to share the details of her medical journey.

This woman is 39 yrs old and has had Crohn's disease since 1993; she has had 5 bowel resections and is now in an extremely serious state as she is not able to keep any food down; the medical care is stumped, so at this point she is home and on steriods. My colleague has discussed with her the option of using human milk starting with very small amounts to see if this will stay down; the woman has decided to try, as she feels she has nothing to loose and maybe something to gain. She plans to start with very small amounts and see how she tolerates it.

We would appreciate any anecdotal accounts of using human milk for Crohn's. Also wondering about volumes of human milk used in any other similar cases.
thanks in advance for any information,
Maureen
