Perhaps some of you have the advice one of my daughter's customers is
looking for/wants to hear (more likely the latter). She works at a health
food store and a nursing mom came in today (without the baby, my daughter
was quick to notice) looking for "herbs for energy" deemed safe for
nursing. We don't know how old the babe or how much nursing. The customer
was interested in something along the lines of spirulina, ginseng, gotu
kola, and other such-like that she had used pre-conception. My daughter
and the owner of the store couldn't find anything in their references, and
I am pretty proud of my daughter for voicing the obvious: eat better, lots
of non-caffeine liquids, exercise, do less and rest and enjoy your baby
more. (She said the mom looked really draggy.) The owner did find a
reference to the safety of alfalfa, which of course made me chuckle because
of the recent dialogue here about using it to increase milk.......Any
ideas? They sent her home with one of my flyers, so she may be calling.
TIA.
