Help please...what am I missing?  I searched the archives to no avail...

     I met a mom tonight at a Special Care Parents meeting where I was the
guest speaker...The topic was keeping up a milk supply while baby is in the
NICU...Mom told her story and I'm stumped...what am I missing here?

Story goes:  At 26 weeks gestation her milk "came in"...breasts full, driping
milk etc...she bound her breasts (ouch) and she said it took 2 days for the
milk to "go away".  I asked her history and got the following info.  This is
her 4th Pregnancy, others uneventful, She had been on bed rest for premature
labor at home and went into hospital for mag sulfate, tributalene (sp?), and
visteral (sp?) to stop early labor.  She was hospitalized for 4 days and was
discharged to home bed rest.  When she was home for approx. 12 hours the
breasts filled with milk.  She was still pregnant...no separation of the
placenta and carried the baby for another 3 weeks giving birth at 30 weeks to
a 3#1oz baby boy.
It is now 2 days after delivery and she began pumping today with hospital
grade electric breast pump one side at a time, 15 minutes, every two hours.
She is worried because she pumped one (1) cc twice today after 8 pumpings.
She said after her previous births - not premature -  she did not have
problems with milk supply...plenty of milk/colostrum early on.

My/her questions: Why did the breasts fill at 26 weeks?
Did the drugs have anything to do with it?  If yes, what and why?
Did the breast binding harm the potential for establishing this milk supply?
Will her supply increase w/ continued pumping?

Should I ask any other questions?

I assured her that she should keep pumping milk supply would increase
soon...Hope I was right!!!

Can anyone shed some light on my questions?
