This strategy was extensively focus group tested by OWH and the ad firm
hired by the Ad Council in development of the current campaign, and
mothers reported it was not only entirely ineffective but some also
found it insulting to them

i can see how this would be the case for women who are already mothers. but
you can you imagine the impact if britney spears were to go around talking
about planning to bf future children? or paris and nikki hilton, lightning please
don't strike me for even suggesting something other than mere frippery ever
come out of their mouths? you can't tell me SOMEONE isn't listening to these ppl
w/ bated breath considering all the shows exposing every detail of their
everyday lives! not only can we see them having sex, we can see how their new
marriage is holding up (nick lachey/jessica simspon real life show ), how they
discipline (or don't) their kids (the osbournes), how they like to play tricks on
each other ('punk'd' ), what their houses are like (cribs), what they think
of how normal ppl live (new hilton sister/ritchie daughter reality show) what's
really important to them ('rich girls' featuring tommy hifiger's daughter),
how much they deplore vegetarianism ('surviving ted nugent') i could go on and
on...
for some reason right now the younger generation is dying to hear what
celebrities think and have to say! imagine if somehow someone could impart bfing
info to them. it might even appeal to most of these bored, spoiled young ppl b/c
it is controversial and seen as slightly counter-culture. of course the only
problem is who cares about how to feed babies before you have one? :::sigh::: i
still think there's something here that could work, i just can't put my
finger on it!
~jacqui gruttadauria, who isn't really a teenager, but coordinated a program
for homeless teens and still stay in touch w/ them...
