Our local Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies Coalition put together "gift/info"
packs for mothers last year, and this has evolved into all the moms
delivering through Family Practice physicians at the local HMO.  The woman
who coordinated this effort is a dynamo, and got all sorts of people to
donate things, including  a company who sent samples of a lanolin based
cream, refrigerator magnets with a poison hot-line number, oh gosh, I can't
remember all the gazillion things that were in there.  She just called
people up and asked them to donate stuff, and they did.

She is also coordinating a resource room for the same HMO for Healthy
Mothers/Healthy Babies that will have lots of breastfeeding information,
videos, pamphelts, LLLI fact sheets, etc.

I know that last year when she was organizing the first effort, she got the
women at the local Federal Prison Camp to volunteer to put all the
information and samples into the bags.  I'll give her a call and try to find
out more about the different things she put in there.
