It might be interesting for the mom to ask what their advice would be for
the *adult* with this problem.  My guess would be the recommendation would
be more frequent small meals, not widely-spaced Thanksgiving Dinners, to
prevent distention of the stomach.  I wouldn't ask it right on the heels of
their recommendation re the baby, just ask some general questions, ask if
there's any similar condition in adults, what the symptoms are, how it's
treated...

Actually, the mom could try both feeding approaches, starting with the one
that made the most intuitive sense *to her*, make a point of trying each
for, say a week, and see which one works better all around *for her and her
baby.*  Want to hazard a guess??
