>she will not be allowed to breastfeed.

This sort of language drives me nuts. A woman does not need anyone's damn
permission to breastfeed her child. She may have to abstain in the hospital
if the doctor is lunatic enough to threaten to have her child taken away if
she breastfeeds. But once she gets home??? Is he going to have her under
24-hour watch to make sure she doesn't breastfeed? This is like telling a
mother that she is not allowed to change her child's diaper. I mean,
really. This woman needs a new doctor, not a blood transfusion.

Obviously, I'm in desperate need of another line of work, for many reasons,
including "I've run out of patience with the morons of the world" -- meaning
the doctor in this case.

Low iron can be adaptive, attributable to a bacterial infection. The body
tries to keep iron out of the blood to keep it away from bacteria, which
need high levels of iron to reproduce.
