This is something that concerns me too.
To achieve a deep, asymmetrical latch the mother usually pulls the
baby's body closer so that the baby's head falls back a little to
enable his jaw to open wider.
I wonder if this is possible when using this *nursing nest* device?

The pictures show (and the text suggests) placing the nest on a table
or on your knees.
This could lead to the same kind of problems faced by many mothers who
use the other nursing pillows, the kind that go around your waist.
Surely it is more effective to use your arms to position the baby
correctly and then use the pillows to keep your arms at that height.
All too often I see mothers who have been leaning over their babies
which have been placed on a pillow at an awkward distance from their
breasts.

Yes, I can understand why hospitals might think about these nests as a
safety measure to stop a baby rolling off the bed.... but when was the
last time you saw a newborn who could roll over? And the company
itself recommends discontinuing their use as soon as the baby has
learned to roll over.

I would love to see the research for THIS piece of advice. (Their
spelling and grammar, not mine!)
