Dear Laurie and all,
Thanks to everyone who responded to my concerns re sleep apnea. Most
especially to Brian, who was so very informative and helpful via Lactnet and
email, and to Elizabeth Puzar for your email. You guys are great!

Laurie, No apologies are needed!!! You have shared something very significant
in adding to the thread of Brian's postings and getting many of us who are
concerned about the snorers in our life to look at this seriously. I'm so sad
to hear that your dear husband died so young! I've had a little voice inside
me that occasionally prompted me to express my concern to my "pauser and
snorter". Thanks to your openness and also to Brian and Elizabeth, I showed
your posts to my husband. We're taping him tonight and he's all for checking
out the sleep apnea center at our hospital!

Perhaps his heart attack occurred totally independent of anything else? Its
entirely possible that a seemingly healthy 56 year old could have had a heart
attack. (I wondered if I heard you being unfairly hard on yourself. Or
perhaps I was just projecting that I might be hard on myself.) Be gentle with
yourself, Laurie. Thanks so much for sharing.

I never could convince him that it
was anything to be concerned about, much less mention to his MD. So, other
than some vague anxiety on my part, I never did anything more about it. He
was in good health other than being slightly overweight and being treated for
mild hypertension. He was not breastfed as a baby.
You know what is coming------------he died suddenly of a heart attack at the
age of 56.
I wonder what might have happened if I had been a little more insistent. I
have to smile at myself, "confessing" my innermost thoughts to 1000 readers!
 .
Thank you, Brian, for educating all of us.

I am a recent subscriber to Lactnet and find it as stimulating as going to a
daily conference. Where else could one have the opportunity to network with
colleagues from around the world? I am a LC in a hospital in Madison, WI,
having a love/hate relationship with my job. Most days I feel blessed by
the responses of the mothers I work with. Then, there are those other
days------. I'm so glad you are all there.
