We use the Denver in my office and I am a registered tester and have not
gotten one bit of information about the change, nor has my office. As
far as any official notice that a child who attempts breastfeeding
instead of using the bottle, we have not gotten that notice. The only
place I have heard that you can now pass a child who attempts to
breastfeed the baby is on LactNet. Unfortunately, the little bottles
have all been lost out of our kits and have been replaced with plastic
spoons.
The other item little used in Denver kits is the raisin used to check
for fine motor in infants, I have never seen a Denver kit where the
raisins have not been replaced by Cheerios or Kix, all the public health
nurses I have ever known knew better than to give an infant a raisin and
then try to retrieve it before it goes in the mouth.
