We're probably talking different types of mother with fertility
issues, then, Vicky. Mothers who choose to have a doula are more
likely to want to breastfeed.

Heather and Vicky,
My experience has been the same as both of yours. When I did labor support,
the mothers all bf, no matter how old or what the impediments. This is
definitely typical of mothers motivated enough to choose labor support. OTOH,
when I worked in a hospital, I found that the overall majority of mothers who
had fertility problems, esp if they were older, did not successfully bf,
whether they birthed twins or a singleton. The majority of the moms did state
they wished to bf, but many did not persevere in the face of any adversity.
