Has anyone out there heard about this? One of our pediatricians just
told me that patients are coming in with coupons they have clipped from
magazines which say, "just take this to your pediatrician and s/he will
give you free formula"? This particular pediatrician says that she has
actually called the formula reps to come in to supply her with all of
the formulas that are mentioned in the ad so that she won't loose
patients. I asked her to refer them to WIC instead, but she said these
pts. aren't WIC recipients.

This is after a long battle which I THOUGHT I had won with this clinic
to keep formula out. We even wrote policies and this same pediatrician
signed them. But they do not address this particular issue, obviously,
because we didn't know that it was down the pike. The policy says, in
short, that formula reps are not allowed in the pediatric clinic area to
distribute formula. It specifies that an individual pediatrician can
meet with a formula rep in their own offices, which USED TO BE across
the street. Apparently now, however, some of the offices are now
actually in the clinic itself.

I have been NOMAIL for a while now, so please forgive me if this has
been discussed.

What are other places doing? Please Email me privately anyone who has
either had the same experience or has an idea of what to do!
