Hi all,
I operate my private LC practice from my home office and frequently see
clients on weekends, evenings, holidays - so it's not unusual to get calls
for pumps at odd times. On Christmas eve, I rented a pump to a mother
discharged - get this - at 6 pm, WITHOUT HER BABY. Where is this hospital's
heart?? Couldn't they keep her overnight one more day so she could stay with
her premie this one special night of the year??? Two other local hospitals
offer a "free second day" as a marketing strategy. Obviously this place
thinks differently. Maybe I didn't get the whole story?? The only good part
is that I could help her, at least with the pump. Wonder what their "mission
statement is."

BTW, this schedule is acceptable for me, even preferable, because normal
"business hours" are open for other aspects of my work.
