Just wanted to mention that I have even used my milk to cure eye infections in my cats! As a life-long cat person, I have had many occasions to use antibiotic ointment in the eyes, which burn and they fight, but my milk cleared them right up, with no pain for my precious kitties!

There is SO much that breast milk can help heal, topically, that it is a shame that many people won't even try it because they don't have irrefutable clinical evidence that it is safe, although they don't think twice about using medications that are known to burn and also have potential side-effects. I learned a lot about it when I had a terrible skin reaction to the soy-based formula I was using in the Lact-Aid with my third adopted son. It burned so badly that I could barely stand to nurse with it, but when a friend donated some milk for me to use in the Lact-Aid, the soothing effect was dramatic! There is just SO much that it is good for!
