Margaret,

I read with interest the nurse expert who said you can't give out info over the phone.  I used to work at a hospital doing exactly that "Health Access" aka "Ask a Nurse".  As long as you have protocols in place in shouldn't be a problem.  If you don't want to reinvent the wheel there are protocols that can be bought already in place, then you just usually need them approved by some higher ups.  Most of these protocols have a triage in place for if and when people need to be seen and by whom, and by how many hours, days ect.
