Brought back memories! Went to nsg school in 1974 (who was born then?).
My ob instructor believed in BF (in fact asked me to do BF talk to class)
but she said she thought I should keep my LLLL status quiet on the OB
floor. Well the very first day my cover was blown by one of the docs and
the rest of my time in that unit was awkward because the nurses were
watching that crazy BF person like a bunch of vultures, just waiting for me
to do something wrong! But I got an A in Mat/child health - a point of
honor for me.

Another funny story - first day with a new batch of ob student RNs -
getting to know each other, I was instructor- I asked if they or spouse BF
or would they (some students were young.) One student said how she nursed
her babies for a long time and how she didn't need help from those crazy
LLL people etc, etc, etc. When she sort of ran out of steam I asked her if
she wanted to know now or later that I was an LLLL. The look on her face
was priceless. She was a good student tho and did fine helping moms and I
think she learned that most LLLL aren't way out fanatics. Iced in tonight
with a nasty storm. Pat in SNJ
