Yes. When teaching early postpartum moms breast massage or compression, I tell
them that they may at some point notice the baby pushing on or patting the
breast to increase milk flow. Also, the baby may, while nursing, slightly pull
on the nipple to stimulate another let down of rich milk. If the mom finds any
of this uncomfortable, I suggest that she use relaxation and other let down
techniques to facilitate flow.
