I have a mom who I think may have Sheehan's syndrome...
I need your comments...advice.
Mom has a 12 day old infant in our NICU who was quite ill and first went to
breast yesterday. She has been pumping religiously q3h with a double pump.
She has less than 5cc per side each pumping and has nver gotten any more
than 20cc (three days after a D&C for placental fragments) she had a
significant post-partum bleed and her hgb is 65.
During her first pregnancy she became severely hypertensive with "many
seizures" and also had a severe postpartum hemmorrhage. Mom states she
almost died.
Mom states her older child was never happy at the breast always screaming,
restless, unhappy, big wt loss, She had some intervention with a SNS,
but "gave up after much frustration" in a week. She is very worried that
the same thing will happen this time. I think her concerns are valid,
therefore I am seeking your collective wisdom...
