I took the exam yesterday in Kansas City, MO. We were permitted to keep our
"stuff" under our desks, provided we never tried to access it. Anything we
knew we might want during a break stayed in the front of the room near the
door. That worked out very well, I thought.

This was actually a very child-friendly site, and I would encourage anyone
with a baby who wants to take the exam, to consider bringing Dad or a
mother's helper and giving it a whirl. Linda Smith's practice exams give a
good idea how long the actual testing will take, plus a few minutes to
double check the bubble sheet. Judging by morning finish times, when we all
congregated before lunch, most of the folks in KC could have handled a 20min
nursing break with no trouble at all. Your mileage may vary.

We were in a nearly deserted academic building with long hallways and plenty
of stairs and drinking fountains and nice views and small park areas
outside. Even my velcro toddlers would have been fine exploring, and a baby
could go with dad in the sling. Multiple kids would be harder, of course,
especially if the exam site were far from home (I had to spend the night
before), but if I am blessed with another baby I wouldn't hesitate to go.
It would be more complicated and therefore more stressful, but doable, with
a helper.

The *only* limitation I saw was no babies in the exam room itself.
