I'm sure many of you will have seen footage of this terrible tragedy in
Christchurch, NZ.

Carol Bartle is on this list, and we have heard, via her daughter (who lives
in the UK) that Carol is personally okay. Phone communication is limited.

The death toll is in the 60s already, including a mother who was carrying
her baby, who survived.

Unfortunately, this earthquake occurred in the middle of the day, mid-week,
and follows another major one (7.1) last September.

Our thoughts are with all those affected - many anxiously waiting news of
those missing under rubble, and in burning buildings.

The NZ Breastfeeding Authority (and BFHI) is based in Christchurch, and
LLLNZ is active in Christchurch, so there may be others on this list
directly affected by this unfolding tragedy.
