Sandra,

I think we all appreciate being able to read the views of Dr. Kim Hooper, who
is a principle investigator for studies on flame retardants in US mothers'
breastmilk. Yet, his answers do not satisfy me.

1) "breastmilk is easier to obtain than blood" easier for who? The
researcher?

2) "breastmilk empowers communities to do their own testing" What we will
have is a toxicology lab in every community but only 7 or is it 6 human milk
banks in North America. Rather odd don't ya think that we are thinking about
spending money for labs to learn about toxins in human milk when we can't find
the funds to put milk banks into every community.

3) "when breastmilk talks, people listen" No, please tell
environmentalists when the infant formula industry gets wind of anything detrimental about
breastmilk or breastfeeding it makes headline news. Who owns the media? So the
more environmentalists push "breastmilk is the most toxic food on earth" the
happier and richer you make the infant formula industry. Sweden is a whole
different story--breastfeeding is the norm. Breastfeeding is not the norm here,
thus the damage that is done by using human milk as the canary in the mine
shaft is enormous.

4) I find it ironic that environmentalists state that the reason they are
doing human milk is because of the fat content and then they state in regard to
lipsuction samples that nobody cares about chemicals contained in their
unwanted fat.

So it seems that the reason we are using human milk is because it makes
headline news. I am sure that the infant formula industry is quite happy with this
campaign.
