My DIL, who had both her babies at Sutter Roseville, adjacent to
Sacramento, CA, has received a solicitation for donations. Sutter Roseville
has no LC program. Their mothers who need LC services must drive into
Sacramento to see the (great praises for her, by name, inserted here) IBCLC
at Sutter Memorial in downtown Sacramento. Roseville's goal is $70,000 per
year for "local lactation services" and one lactation consultant. Their
delivery rate is 2,500 annual. They are non-profit and donations are tax
deductible. They don't say what that amount covers in addition to salary
and benefits for the IBCLC.

Has anyone else thought of raising LC-services money this way?
Trouble is, they have to keep on raising money to keep the program going.
But it's worth a thought for all of us who work in non-profits.

Phyllis
