Hello everyone,
I have permission to post. I have a patient who told me she started pumping a
week before she delivered becuase she was leaking so much. This is her first
baby. I know all the dangers associated with this like labor... That is not my
question. I was curious if she had stored this milk would it be safe for the baby
to ingest now? Would it contain everything the baby needs? Day one she is
pumping around an ounce each feeding. Do you think her pumping prior to
delivery is responsible for her larger volume of EBM day 1-2 post partum?
Thanks for your input.
