Well, I'm not sure about year 2000, but weather is getting more devastating,
probably because of global warming (c.f. Hurricane Mitch, Ice storm in
Quebec last year).  Breastfeeding is food security for infants in times of
great insecurity (c.f. infants in Iraq who died because no infant formula
available).  Who knows where the next disaster will happen?  We Canadians
were shaken out of our complaisance (maybe) last year, as we have hardly
ever had large scale disasters.
