Saw a question the other day that I havent seen a response to about if infant
has allergy (hives) to 'cillins, will Mom's intake affect through the milk.

If it is truly an allergy, the answer is YES.  And I wouldn't take a chance
on it.  Certainly another antibiotic should be able to be used in this
instance if the MD is informed of the baby's previous reaction.

In pharmacies, separate pill counters and spatulas are marked "Penicillins
Only", because anaphalactic shock is possible even with slight exposure.

Maybe an MD or pharmacist could expound.  'Hives' might or might not be a
true allergic reaction but this wouldn't seem to be the time to test that
theory . . .
