Barbara,
i was just looking through the various lactnet items and saw your comment on
turners syndrome. so true.

it reminded me of a lady i cared for about 2 years ago with turners
syndrome. she gave birth to premature baby (about 32 weeks gest). she
wanted to do what she could. so we discussed the issues and supported her
desire to do whatever she could. Each day for over four weeks she collected
and brought up to 10 mls of Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) for her baby. i
think the most she ever got may have been 20 mls and most days she was able
to collect at least 5mls. It would sound like a pathetic effort to some and
i know some would tell her not to bother. but it was a brilliant effort for
her to express 6 - 8 times a day and come up with her 5mls or so. she
happily did this until she was satisfied lactation was not going to happen
for her and she had done what she could to give her baby some antibody
protection.
