I just spoke to good friend that is a Radiologist (MD) that specializes in
breast imaging. She told me that there is far less radiation in a digital
mammogram than the traditional ones they used about 7 years ago. That there
is far less in a mammogram than in ANY other radiographic procedure, ie: a
wrist x-ray and that many docs feel that you receive less radiation during a
mammogram than you would in flying from OK to Colorado (you apparently
receive radiation when flying due to the altitude)!
