I am not convinced that travelling with a toddler is bad for the
toddler. It's tiring for the parents. It's difficult sometimes for the
toddler who has his routines all mixed up, but then he will have his
mother there and the breast for comfort and security.

Our family travelled about this length of time in Kenya, Egypt, Germany
and Italy when we had a nursing 2 year old. Yes it was hard sometimes,
but it generally went well. And I cannot imagine what our 2 year old
would have gone through if she had not come with us.

I would urge the mother to reconsider her plans. I doubt the toddler
would return to breastfeeding after 10 weeks even if the mother could
keep up her milk supply, which she might not with all that chasing
around.

I would not suggest a 10 week separation even if the mother were not
breastfeeding.
