Hi. I suggest that we keep the fairly basic advantages of breastfeeding type
of discussion to private e-mail, ..in fact, this could be the topic of a
small group of subscribers who wish to discuss this in private. It is a
really good private e-mail topic, especially if there is a group of folks
who do these types of discussion groups, etc.

TLC is appropriate for LLL meeting discussion topics, as many of our
subscribers are professional physicians, RNs, IBCLCs, as well as LLLeaders also.

The archives have a wealth of resources, again, on the benefits of
breastfeeding, and how professionals convey these benefits to mothers.
Sometimes, professionals and others do not focus on the "benefits" of
breastfeeding, but rather the risk of not breastfeeding. Just a  thought...

Also....Kate asked ...." I also
dislike "lay breastfeeding group (or counsellor)" to refer to, usually,
LLL. Are LC's priests, and LLL the recipient of church teaching?"

I would not put things in exactly these terms, as they are confrontative, in
my opinion.  I would say that many LLLeaders are told to call themselves
"lay breastfeeding counselors," at least this is true where I live.  It is
not my experience that IBCLCs preach to LLLeaders in any way. Where we are,
people work cooperatively with one another, as team members.
