Yes, if the baby breastfeeds within the hour after birth, blood sugars normal 
then we give a 6 hour "break" for both mom and baby.  Babies usually shut 
down after that first good feed and sleep for 5 to 6 hours.  Hopefully, the 
moms do too.  Hope that helps...Their is research to support this but don't 
have the time to look it up just this second.  If you cannot find this info e-mail
