The pressure on the A/E and M----a hospital grade pumps is 240-250. My
experience with the PNS has been that it works excellently for what it was
designed to do- provide stimulation to breasts that were all ready regulated
to the demands of a baby or toddler on a regular yet "infrequent" schedule.
I don't think that trying to establish a supply by pumping every 3 hours is
infrequent- does anyone else. I have mom's that return to work and use the
PNS routinely 1-2 times per day 5 days a week and maintain a already good
supply for many months, some up to a year. I also have had plenty of
mother's who cannot maintain a milk supply with a PNS or a rental after about
3-4 weeks back in the work force as they just aren't getting enough
stimulation to their breasts. Those whose jobs alllow time to pump every 2-3
hours can increase their milk or attempt to regain their supply. I usually
praise them for what they are doing and have done in the past with their
dedication to breasfeeding and continue doing what they can not to make
themselves crazy over it. That's all-
Thanks for all the updates and yes Dr. Newman you have taken the prize in
the number of posts for one day.!!!
