I think they would have to be pretty good friends and the one mom would
need to be sure that the donating mom was healthy, not drinking, etc.
 The milk of a mom with a 2 year old is different than the milk of a mom
with a newborn, so that needs to be taken into consideration--but
certainly better than formula.  A mom of a 2 year old might be more
likely to have a drink, or take a prescription that might not be good
for a newborn or younger infant, so that needs to be considered.

My youngest had the milk of a good friend when she was in the hospital
and I was still in recovery.  I had GD and we knew there was a
likelyhood of baby's blood sugar dropping, so we arranged to have the
milk at the hospital, and sure enough, it was needed.  Much better than
giving formula or sugar water.  She also nursed off another friend at
one point.  But I knew both women well, and trusted them and their milk.
 I think that is the bottom line.
