Another anecdote: a friend of mine got thrombophlebitis after one of her
births because she spent a LONG time in the stirrups after delivery (the
doctor was too busy elsewhere to sew up the episiotomy, and no one
thought to lower her legs from the stirrups, the dummies. And she is very
heavy.). Judy K
