Kathy Rubin, The LC's in my hospital chart on the physician's progress notes.
We also write on the doctor's order sheet where appropiate. We write limites
orders for breastpumps, lanolin follow-up visits, social service consults and
the like. I feel very fortunate that we've been given a little power(Just as
long as it doesn't conflict with the doctor wants) It works well and gets the
doctors used to seeing our assessments. We get called to other floors for
consults because the docs know we're around. Years of being a nurse has
taught me doctors only read order sheets and their progress notes. We have a
mother-baby form for the outpatient clinic visits.
