Ezzo and Bucknam have added a new book to their collection. Although
neither is an author, Mary Ann Ezzo is one of several authors, all of
who have "medical credentials". I skimmed through it at the bookstore.
It seems mostly to say "this is what happens," nothing too
frightening, Until you get to the section on feeding. It presents
breast and "bottle" as basically equal options. You'd want to choose
bottle feeding if you plan to leave your baby with a sitter a lot, or
if you have to be out in public a lot because you might have trouble
finding a "private place" to nurse. I don't think any mention is made
of the true values of breastfeeding. It's presented the same way as
"should you paint the baby's room or wallpaper?" If your baby is not
gaining weight you should supplement - but the way this is advised is
to breastfeed less (yes, that will certainly help a supply problem).
And be aware of growth spurts, and be sure to add "an" extra feeding
during the day, so as not to disrupt sleeping through the night.
Have these people not done enough damage to our babies already?
