Lisa,
I have always used vinyl gloves, since I hate the taste and smell of latex and
felt that babies should not be subjected to this near/in their mouth and food
source. I combine this with scrupulous hand washing, as there is concern that
vinyl may be more permeable than latex. I wear gloves throughout the consult,
changing frequently. I tell clients that the gloves are for their baby's
protection from my foreign germs.
