In response to the more detailed question of nipple hair-I don't remember
where or when I read about this, but I believe it was in a psychology course:
a baby needed to have something (a cloth, blanket or other warm fuzzy)
tickling its nose when eating because it had gotten accustomed to the
mother's nipple hairs tickling its nose when breastfeeding and was
CONDITIONED to have this experience!! Nipple hairs are probably not dangerous
(!) I am wondering why the mother worried about the baby choking on short
(relatively) hairs. How many of us have found long hairs (our scalp hairs)
in baby's diaper or have had to gently extricate these hairs from baby's
mouth? How about we all get buzz cuts to avoid this messy problem?
