"I had to quit a job teaching a breastfeeding class because they would not
let me bring my new baby. So, I quit."

Good for you! I wish that more women were able to take such a strong and
clear position! When employers start losing excellent employees because of
such stupid policies, maybe they'll start to get a clue.

My heart just breaks, though, for the many women I've worked with over the
years who aren't in a position to send such an unambiguous message. Say
whatever you will about making choices, altering lifestyles, prioritizing,
etc., there are so very many for whom this just isn't an option. I myself
chose to remain on welfare and all its attendant "services" so I could be
home to nurse my babies, so I know whereof I speak. It worked for me because
I knew it wouldn't be my whole life, and because I am fortunate enough to
have education and brains and enough sense of my own worth to struggle
through those years. But so many women don't have those resources, and it's
those I most worry about!

It shouldn't have to be like this!!
