Please look for a meaning other than that which you wish to see. I write
from personal experience. With my first child my wife CHOSE [not at my
behest] to express enough for me to do the night feed. After she expressed I
cleaned the pump etc. After the feed I cleaned the bottle etc. The birth was
difficult and labour very long and I think that supporting one's wife in
these circumstances is eminently reasonable. Once she recovered it was easy
to 'wean onto' total BF. I accept it might not be so for all of course.....
With our second she was exclusively BF until my wife started a course and I
used flexi time to stay home and look after her [0830 - 1230 on a Tuesday].
She never took to a latex
nipple and life was not so easy....[the contents were again EBM].

I actually found it WAS a good way to bond - but no, I am not some sad case
who never changed a nappy / did a bath / massage etc. I find this campaign
to vilify anything I say rather boring and think that persistently
criticising aspects of my life of which you have zero knowledge rather
surprising. I know other fathers who have fed pumped milk and have also
found it
satisfying. I feel sad that we have demarcation lines where feeding is mums
job and bathing is dads. My wife and I were both multi-skilled and have thus
enjoyed all aspects of our childrens development!

Despite this sabotage attempt my daughter was BF for nearly 2 years with no
problems.
