Not quite lactation, but too good not to share, this is an excerpt from the
birth and breastfeeding "personal history" written by Jane Pilgrim, our LLL
group's newest Leader.

Sam was born.  The doctor said, "It's a boy."  Why couldn't I find that out
by myself?  I lay there while the placenta was delivered and my perineum
was stitched back together again.  The doctor handed the baby to the nurse.
She cleaned him up, etc.  He was handed about to my husband and I think
even to the anesthesiologist.  This reminds me of the book Are You My
Mother?  Are you my mother?  No, I am a doctor.  Are you my mother?  No, I
am an anesthesiologist.  Are you my mother?  No, I am a labor and delivery
nurse.  Are you my mother?  No, I am your father.  Finally they handed Sam
to me, his mother.
