I have no problem when donors are not paid - if the rest of the organization
is not-for-profit also.

I actually would be fine with this whole for-profit thing - if the moms WERE
paid. Milk is a renewable resource - its not like a cornea or liver. Women
could actually supplement their income, if they were paid for their milk.

I am not against "profit" either - it's the measure by which we know we are
doing something that is wanted, and in an effecient manner. As we have
seen, these ventures can only be adequately funded, when investors can see
that they can gain a fair market return for the use of their capital.

I just can't see why every other participant in this for-profit venture can
be paid (landlords receive rent, employees receive wages, investors receive
dividends and share growth, supplies are paid for (not donated)) BUT the
supplier of the MAIN ingredient, cannot be paid one cent, but are expected
to do this out of the goodness of their heart.

I really cannot believe that the whole economic basis for this business
would collapse if the women had to be paid. I DO believe there is enough
profit there, to pay for the milk, if the women were organized and demanded
it.

Yep, a radical thought, but there, I've said it.
